This year, the arena is transformed into a wonderland of exploration and adventure, aptly named Wonder League Park”. In the heart of the park, vibrant lights illuminate the paths to ingenious inventions, whirring machineries, and the buzz of digital commands, all set to test your technological mastery and imaginative capacities. This enchanting amusement park-themed competition brings forth a confluence of computer science, engineering, creativity, and most significantly, fun, into a dazzling display of educational excitement! As you step into the sprawling vistas of Wonder League Park, Dash, our vivacious and incredibly smart robot, becomes your ally in navigating through a series of challenges sprinkled across the park. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, involves employing your acumen in computer science and engineering to aid Dash in managing the park’s intricate operations, ensuring that all virtual guests are treated to a seamless, joyous experience. Students will be plunged into a world where their skills are the key to unlocking the secrets of successful amusement park management. From the dizzying heights of the roller coasters to the detailed intricacies of the carousel, participants will decipher codes, troubleshoot robotic functions, and innovate solutions to ensure Dash effectively orchestrates the mechanical and digital symphony that is Wonder League Park. So, fasten your seatbelts, esteemed participants, as you embark on this exhilarating journey of robotics, coding, engineering, and boundless imagination at the Wonder Workshop Year 9 competition. About the Wonder League Robotics Competition The (WLRC) started in 2015 and has now reached more than 90,000 kids over the last eight years. This growing network of coding and robotics teams uses our all-inclusive program to inspire an early love of coding, computer science, tangible learning, and STEAM education. Through a series of story-based missions, the teams develop problem-solving, growth mindset, and creativity skills while learning to code. Develop computational thinking skills Through coding and problem solving, teams can equip themselves with essential 21st century skills. Builds teamwork and community spirit 63% of coaches found a growth in teamwork, collaboration and perseverance in their teams. Compete virtually from anywhere in the world It’s a virtual competition! Teams complete missions at their own pace and submit via our online portal. We love our Coaches Throughout the competition, coaches have opportunities to participate in exclusive promotions and be a part of an exclusive community. Innovator Cup - Ages 6-8 The Innovator Cup is designed for students ages 6-8 to compete in a series of missions that will test their skills in our Coding Pathways levels A-C. Students will use Make Wonder’s Coding Pathways to learn the necessary skills needed, and then apply them in our missions throughout the competition. Register Now Pioneer Cup - Ages 9-12 The Pioneer Cup is designed for students ages 9-12 to compete in a series of missions that will test their skills in our Coding Pathways levels D-F. Students will use Make Wonder’s Coding Pathways to learn the necessary skills needed, and then apply them in our missions throughout the competition. Register Now WLRC Innovator Cup & Pioneer Cup Join the 9th annual today! Teams competing in the Innovator Cup (Ages 6-8) and Pioneer Cup (Ages 9-12) will be presented with five missions designed to spark creativity, encourage collaboration, and engage participants in real-world problem-solving. WLRC Coaches Coaches will register each team from within a Make Wonder subscription. If you already have a Make Wonder subscription, log in and set up a team in the Wonder League area of the portal. If you are not a current Make Wonder subscriber, purchase one Coach Success Pack for each team of up to 5 students. You can register teams based on the number of students you have in your subscription. Purchase Make Wonder Coach or Other Make Wonder Subscriptions What is required? A Make Wonder subscription In order to register your team, coaches will need a Make Wonder subscription. (You can register teams based on the number of students you have in your subscription.) A Team A team is made up of a supervising adult coach and one to five members A Compatible Device You are able to use an iPad, iPhone, Android device, Chrome Book, or Mac or PC using a Chrome Browser. The use of a Dot or Cue robot will no longer be used.
